Chairperson delivers press statement to – Saint FM Community

The Saint FM Chairperson has delivered the following statment today PRESS STATEMENT Dear Members, Supporters & Listeners of Saint FM Community Radio, It is with much regret that today I formally advise you that I am relinquishing my posts as Chair of Saint FM Community Radio (Gty) Limited, the Company and Chair of Saint FM Community Association, the Fundraising Committee.  In addition, I also advise you that Donna Crowie, our Station Manager, Director & Treasurer of Saint FM Community Radio (Gty) Limited and Member of the Fundraising Committee also relinquishes her post today.  Both of us will leave Saint FM Community Radio on or before 31st July 2015 if circumstances do not change. Update from the two previous post. Commencing Friday, 22nd May at 16:10 GMT, Les Baldwin embarked on Radio Marathon 2015.  The challenge was enormous, as in July 2013 local radio legend Tony Leo had set a record of 27 long hour’s non-stop raising an impressive £2,845.00 for Saint FM Community Radio. Although well prepared, Les admits that nerves started to kick-in just before starting and at the commencement of the marathon.  Momentum built however, with support from the community of St. Helena, friends & families internationally and of course the support received within the studios of Saint FM. Ralph and Hazel in Paradise with Saint FM

Saint FM country music radio presenters Ralph and Hazel Peters took their country collection from the studio of Saint FM to Pub Paradise on Friday the 22 May for what was described as a successful night despite the rainy and foggy weather. The night was organised to raise funds for Saint FM community radio. A total of £141.00 was made from the entrance fees and the multi raffle. Individual prizes for the best dressed Country and Western couple on the dance floor was won by Peter Corker and his dance partner Catherine Yon. The organisers felt it was an enjoyable night. A year’s supply of Windhoek Beer for a year.

A year’s supply of Windhoek beer from Saint FM Saint FM is raffling a year’s supply of Windhoek beer (yes that is correct a year’s supply) That is one bottle of beer a day for every day of the year. This great prize is offered to anyone living on St Helena. The successful winner will be expected to collect their supply every month for 12 months from the Queen Mary Store. Saint FM Radio Marathon

Saint FM Community Radio Marathon coming soon: on the 22nd May Saint FM community radio presenter Les Baldwin will begin his Radio marathon challenge at 1600 GMT. Les will see how long he can sit in the hot seat at the Saint FM Studio; Les said his aim is to beat radio legend Tony Leo who managed to stay awake on air for 27 hours when he present at Radio Marathon last year. Sucess to money mile

On Saturday, 25th April 2015, Saint FM Community Radio Association held its Money Mile fundraising event in Jamestown to raise funds for Saint FM Community Radio (Gty) Limited to assist with monthly expenditure.  The event was organised by the Association Committee Members and Members of Saint FM.  Starting from the Post Office in Jamestown, the aim was to create a stream of 50p & £1 coins that would trickle down Main Street towards the Saint FM Studios.
